Beauty has always had the power to attract our attention. Human beings have been drawn to beauty
since the dawn of time. In the five sensory world, what is considered beautiful has changed over
time, but certain things have remained what we consider to be "timelessly beautiful." A flower,
a sunset, a baby; these things are inherent in our general description of beauty. We are attracted
to beauty because of the way it makes us feel. There is an internal recognition of the divine
expressing itself in beautiful things. The reason we feel a lift when encountering beauty is that
within each of us there is a spark of the divine that is recognizing and confirming our internal beauty.
Babies remind us that we are all perfectly formed at birth, with the ability to express our unique
beautiful qualities freely.
For many of us, this freedom of expressing our beauty was eroded over time through our upbringing
and self-imposed rules. As adults, most people would agree that it is easier to spot beauty outside of
us. This attraction to and subsequent need to acquire beautiful things can become a substitute for
rediscovering the beauty within us. For many of us, myself included, it became easier to focus on
working to perfect the external parts of us with beauty products. This preoccupation, without
balancing our focus on internal beauty, can lead to very empty feelings and a sense of frustration.
"If people are drawn to beauty and I am doing all this work to be beautiful, why am I not happy?"
Some of us redouble our efforts in a false belief that we are not beautiful enough. This can lead us down
the path to believing that changing our external selves through plastic surgery is the answer. For others,
it might be the changes that occur as the aging process progresses. The external beauty that a woman
had always relied on begins to betray her in her thirties or forties. She looks in the mirror and sees
changes. She starts asking others if she looks "old"; if she is "still attractive."
After a time, she starts to question her value because of these external changes. Once again, the reliance
on external beauty to be enough is letting her down.
I am strongly focused on the fact that: OUR ESSENTIAL BEAUTY IS REALLY THE INTERTNAL, DIVINE BEAUTY
THAT EACH ONE OF US WAS BORN WITH. The question becomes which one to focus on - the inner or the outer
beauty. Trying to choose one or the other as the "right" type of beauty adds more frustration and
unnecessary debate. A sense of peace, happiness and harmony results when we can achieve a balanced
focus on both our internal and external beauty. I am here to bring your external beauty into alignment
with your inherent internal beauty.
